How Great is OUR GOD!!!!!!
Today was a great day…. There wasn’t anything in particular that made it great – other than our GREAT GOD!! hahaha… I love days when God gives me the giggles, I feel like I laughed all day and I love that.
I for sure needed the giggles. So much has been going on lately that has been trying to bring me down and confuse me and hurt me. Times like that make me step back and say, “God, what do you have planned? What is your purpose in all of this and WHEN will it be over.” Then you have that moment when He just shows up and saves the day! He cares about where I’m at and what I’m going through. I love Him for that.
We all have a desire to be heard and understood… okay, maybe just me
SO, when things go sour in life and you know deep in your heart that your motives were right and can’t figure out why you just got side-swiped……You need God to move and reveal to people the big picture and who you are and what you mean by the things you say, right? Well, today I learned that if you wait on God long enough He really means it when He says, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. –Romans 12:19
How Great is OUR GOD!?!? He sees our tears and hears our cries. We may think He’s forgotten about us, but He’s never early and never late….. Thank you Lord.
A Challenge.
A friend of mine recently posted a bulletin on myspace called, “He is your life”. When I read it I was instantly challenged to take a look at my life. I asked myself, “what am I pursuing, what am I absorbed in and what is defining my life right now.” I’m sad that I don’t ask myself these questions daily. However, I’m greatful for her bulletin as it got me thinking. The scripture posted was Colossians 3:1-4, which reads:
1-2. So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ – that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective. 3-4. Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life – even though invisible to spectators – is with Christ in God. HE IS YOUR LIFE. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too – the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ. –The Message Bible
I luv this passage. I luv stuff that makes me think and challenges me to be serious, to walk closer, to look up and to be hidden in Him. To be defined by this new life in Christ, so when I’m scrutinized and picked apart the only thing someone could say is…..”She knows God, she is pursuing Him and has her sights set on higher things.” I’m certainly not there, but thank God that He draws us in with his powerful Word.
Here goes….
Well, here it is my first blog.
I guess I think its pretty cool/random that people ‘blog’. When someone gave me the low-down on all of this blogging shinanigans I thought to myself…”a journal of sorts that everyone and anyone can read, hmmm.” lol… I guess all who know me, know that I am not now, nor have I ever been, a private person. I think it could be dangerous if I blog as a journal/diary….. so I have decided to use it as a way of tracking my weekly progress in whatever self-help book I’m reading at the time
or whatever God is working out in me.
I am currently reading through the book, “Lady in Waiting”. Sounds cheezy, I know. BUT – God is definitly showing me some things about myself and about what He requires of me as I wait patiently for His plan to unfold.
So….. I hope my blogging inspires those who read it, and inspires/changes me in the process.
Happy reading….
